Encompass Credit Union is accepting applications for its Community Social Responsibility Investment Program until the end of November 2020.
The annual community grant funding allows for up to a maximum $10,000 grant for a capital project in 2021.
The program was designed for larger requests that would fall outside of the usual requests from minor sports or other charitable requests which will continue to be handled through the network of Encompass Credit Union branches.
“Our community investment grant has been a great way to help community organizations and groups to start larger projects, or complete projects they are working on,” said President and CEO Kelly Longley. “We’ve been pleased with projects which have been selected in the past and how much they’ve done with the funding to help benefit the community as a whole.”
The applications are reviewed by the Community Social Responsibility Committee, which is made up of the CEO and the Board of Governance Committee, with in-person presentations requested for the final applicants in January of 2021. The winners will be notified by the end of January. The funds are given out during the Annual General Meeting for Encompass in February.
Encompass provides up to $10,000 for each community investment grant and the organization looks forward to seeing this year’s crop of applications.
“Each year, we seek applications from organizations that have a clear project in mind, with a plan and a budget to accomplish their goals. Our committee looks very closely at the overall benefit to the community that the project will accomplish,” said Longley.
The deadline for applications is November 30, 2020. Applications can be found online at encompasscu.ca and click on the “Be A Community Superheroes” panel. Or click on In Our Community, then Community Programs from the Encompass homepage, or click here.
